(HPW) is headquartered in Eugene, OR where staff can efficiently address the on-site needs of clients in the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, and Northern California. To more effectively serve clients in the Southwest, including Southern California, HPW expanded to Las Vegas, NV. Recently, HPW added affiliate staff in Lubbock, TX and Omaha, NE to address client needs in the state of Texas as well as in the Central Midwest. HPW staff are equipped with and well-trained in the latest in digital video and photographic hardware and software tools and applications. As an added benefit, staff are trained and prepared to handle your small- or large-sample statistical analysis needs. HPW has three affiliate research/testing laboratories in various locations across the U.S. The primary testing facility is housed in the Sports Injury Research Center at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and is directed by John A. Mercer, Ph.D., FACSM. Well-equipped with two- and three-dimensional motion capture instruments, force and acceleration measuring devices, muscle-testing systems as well as specific equipment to evaluate footwear, the Mercer laboratory affords an environment to test, evaluate and/or simulate a plethora of unique personal injury situations or biomechanical questions. The HPW affiliate Clinical Biomechanics Laboratory is housed in the Center for Clinical Rehabilitation Assessment at Texas Tech University and is directed by C. Roger James, Ph.D. The primary focus at this facility is gait and rehabilitation as well as computer-intensive technology issues. The James laboratory provides a unique environment to address pedestrian-related questions as well as other issues relative to human locomotion. The most recent HPW affiliate Biomechanics Laboratory is housed at the University of Nebraska Omaha and is directed by Nick Stergiou, Ph.D. With a research focus directed at understanding organizational strategies of movement, the Stergiou laboratory serves as a unique environment to address perturbations to movement (ie., slips/trips/falls) as well as theoretical and/or conceptual issues related to personal injury and humans interacting in the environment. With staff and affiliate laboratories located across the country, HPW is poised to conveniently assist you with your investigative, testing and evaluation needs in areas of human performance and biomechanics inquiry. |
